DE-MOC-RA-CY

"The problem of the United States is not to create democracy, but to conserve democratic institutions and ideals."
-Frederick Jackson Turner

de-moc-ra-cy
[dih-mok-ruh-see]
1. government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system

I very much wish that there were more young people who feel as strongly as I towards our political system. It is the failing of the people of these United States that is causing the plummet into the neo-socialistic views and policies that our government is adopting. We cannot truly call ourselves a democracy at this point. Our voting power as a people has been stripped from us. When did it change from voting for a candidate for office that actually expressed the views of the constituents to voting for them based on “who pisses us off less”??

Not to mention how many people in office actually vote the way they say they will while running for that office? In my opinion the “elected agents” of our government should be nothing more than figureheads for the people. In no way does the constitution and laws regarding the political processes in the country give these representatives the authority to inject their own personal views and thoughts into their voting patterns. In all actuality there should be no political parties among the politicians in the house and senate. There should only be people that echo the voice, wants, and needs of their constituents. Therefore: If the majority of the people in X’s district do not vote or agree with a certain policy, then X has NO business voting for it.

I am of the belief that it is due to the American people’s laxidasical attitude towards government and the political system that has caused the decay of the functionality of our government. Ignorance of the workings of our political system, by most Americans, compounds these issues in so far as there are only a few who see the flaws and misdoings of our current administration. And I do say that those of us who recognize the unconstitutional deeds of our government MUST stand up and point them out. While doing so we must also strive to educate those around us.

This is not to say that our current administration is the only group that has perpetuated these misguided actions, it has been repeated over and over throughout our history. With all of these indiscretions the only outcome can be a corrupt system. It is up to US as the American populace to countermand these issues and strive to redirect our path back to one of a more true representative democracy in which our publicly elected officials are held accountable for any actions that opposes the views of their constituents.

Today I will leave you with this quote:

“Education then, beyond all other devices of human origin, is the great equalizer of the conditions of men, the balance-wheel of the social machinery.”
-Horace Mann

Into the Breach

I am not here to make people think happy thoughts about our country. For even though ours is, in fact, the greatest country in the world, we as a people are squandering it to the last.
For my intro I will give you a brief overview of my concept. As you can see the red, white and blue fish on the left hand side of your page are a metaphor for the American people. And when you click to feed them the black pellets, it is representative of the American people being fed SHIT by the main stream media.

I will be telling you all MY personal views on today's America. Much of what I am sure I will say is what I like to call SARCASM. If you disagree with my points that is fine, but if you are offended by my sense of humor and use of sarcasm to emphasize my disappointment then I do not want to hear it.You have been forewarned.

I look forward to expressing my views and hopefully opening some minds. My objective is NOT to make people agree with me. I would simply like the American people to start THINKING for themselves. I believe we have come to a point where to not do so will lead us even farther down a path to destruction.

For today I will leave you with this quote:

"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin."
-Samuel Adams
